The timing was perfect for the first day of La Casa’s brand new Infant/Toddler Center, located at 9-23 Dewey in Newark’s Upper Clinton Neighborhood. The Center, which is a temporary mobile space that is being used in partnership with the Clinton Hill Community & Early Childhood Center, thanks to the generosity of the Maher Foundation, has six classrooms of infants and toddlers, making space available for 48 children. Clinton Hill will be offering Preschool Education for three and four year olds while La Casa de Don Pedro will be working with expecting mothers, infants and toddlers. Over the next few years, a permanent Infant/Toddler and PreK center will be built around the corner.

While the Dewey Street center is currently at capacity for infants and toddlers, we are still seeking expecting mothers and can add families to our waiting list. Additionally, we have plenty of space for incoming preschool students that can enroll in either our Head Start Centers or our PreK program in partnership with Newark Public School.
