Aug. 29, 2020 – La Casa de Don Pedro is now enjoying its second year partnering with Per Scholas to offer Newarkers the Cyber Bridge program. Completely free, Cyber Bridge was created to give adult learners additional hands-on support and a jump start to Per Scholas’ IT training programs in Network Support and CyberSecurity. The current cohort New Jersey residents who were at least 18 years old and met certain admissions criteria were invited to take advantage of this five week partnership with La Casa, which started three weeks ago and currently has 12 students.
The students of Cyber Bridge attend to make the best of an opportunity and follow a lifelong passion. Others are attracted to the many benefits of learning a trade in one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. Regardless of the motive, the benefits are clear: 95% of former students have been accepted into Per Scholas’ formal training programs such as Network Support and CyberSecurity and are graduating. And the program is only growing, with this current group of students being the largest since the program’s start in in 2019.
Not only is La Casa de Don Pedro dedicated to teaching basic skills to adults such as High School Equivalency and English as a Second Language, but our partnership with Per Scholas is a prime example of our commitment to create career building opportunities to residents who far too often do not have access to lucrative and beneficial professional training programs like this one.
