Last Tuesday, October 11th, the City of Newark held their annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration at the Newark Museum, where La Casa’s CEO & President Peter T. Rosario and Boarch Chair Arcelio Aponte accepted a resolution presented by the Newark Municipal Council commending La Casa de Don Pedro for reaching the pinnacle of success in our field and representing our Latino roots with great pride as well as for our contributions to the community.

This is an important Annual Hispanic Heritage Month observance for the City of Newark and was the sixth Annual Celebration hosted by Mayor Baraka. It recognizes the City’s Latinos’ hard work and deep commitment to faith and family, which have shaped the character of Newark and help preserve the values we all cherish. The celebration featured a dance routine from Saborea Dance Group, flag presentation from Essex County’s Cops 4 Kids program, and speakers such as Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Deputy Mayor Jacqueline Quiles, and Univision 41 Reporter Damaris Diaz. It was a great honor to be included amongst so many other wonderful organizations and individuals known for putting our gente first.
