This year for Black History Month, we wanted to celebrate and lift the voices of some of our Black staff members here at La Casa de Don Pedro. Since our inception, solidarity with our Black brothers and sisters has been at the core of our mission and values. Simply put, we wouldn’t be the organization we are today without the leadership, partnership, and trust of Newark (and Essex County’s) Black community.
First, we start by spotlighting Cecelia Aiken, our LIHEAP Manager who has been helping low-income families pay their utility bills and more for over 18 years.
Next we shine the light on Bradley Jean, our Quality Control Inspector who always shows up with a smile on his face and kindness in his heart.
